Nana’s Ovaltine Black-Bottom Banana Bread
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup | flour |
1 tsp | baking powder |
1 tsp | baking soda |
1/2 tsp | salt |
1 1/2 cups | mashed ripe bananas |
1/2 cup | butter, softened |
1 cup | sugar |
1 | egg |
1 tsp | vanilla |
1/2 cup | Ovaltine -- chocolate drink mix |
Instructions:
- Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and set aside
- In a medium bowl, blend butter and sugar, then add egg and vanilla
- Blend the contents of the medium bowl until thoroughly combined, then add bananas
- Add dry ingredients to the medium bowl and mix well
- Divide batter in half and add Ovaltine to half the mixture
- Spread the Ovaltine batter in the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan or 2 loaf pans
- Spread remaining batter on top
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes
