Killah Kim Chee Soup

For over 25 years this dish has been a staple for our annual camp with family and friends.


Ingredients:

2-3 poundsground turkey
2onions, diced
1 clovegarlic
2Redondo Portuguese Sausage -- cut into 1/4 inch squares
2 blockstofu, cubed
2 pkgslong rice noodles -- Nice brand
2 bottleskim chee -- Halms or Joe Kim
To tasteoyster sauce
To tasteHawaiian salt
To tasteblack pepper
To tastegreen onion, optional

Instructions:

  1. In a large 12" - 15" pot, cook ground turkey until fully cooked
  2. Add diced onions and stir until onions are transparent
  3. Add garlic and diced Portuguese sausage -- mix together until cooked
  4. Add oyster sauce, Hawaiian salt, and black pepper -- Not too much as you can always add more later
  5. Mix all of the above until “da aroma” is attracting the hungry
  6. Add water – about 3-4 inches from top of the pot
  7. Add kim chee -- must be Halms or Joe Kim!
  8. Add 2 blocks tofu and long rice
  9. Bring to a boil. Once long rice is cooked, it’s time to GRIND!
