What motto best describes your outlook on life?
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” –Romans 8:37
What has being awarded the Grove Farm Scholarship meant to you?
Being awarded the Grove Farm Scholarship has meant so much to me. I have been able to pursue my dream of becoming a Civil Engineer. I’m taking extra classes that pertain to my specialty of Water Resource Engineering, which I would have had to opt out of if I did not receive this scholarship.
What have you learned about yourself while you’ve been away?
I’ve continued to prove to myself that I am capable of solving problems and challenges, which at first, seem too difficult to overcome. I have learned, without a doubt, that civil engineering is the correct major for me and I look forward to solving engineering problems on Kauai someday.
What drives you?
What drives me is becoming the best person that I can be, mainly through the knowledge, wisdom, and love of Jesus Christ. I desire to become an individual that is known for offering all I can for others and the land. This desire causes me to learn all I can while I’m in school and to monitor my actions while I am walking through my everyday life.
What gives you hope for the future?
The main thing that gives me hope for the future is that God knows the plans that He has for me, and I know that He will guide me to where I will be the most useful. This being said, I look forward to the challenges and rewards of following His path, and know that these experiences will continue to better myself in all aspects of my life.
