Call for Applications: 2022 Grove Farm Scholarship
The 2022 Grove Farm Scholarship application is due to your high school counselor’s office by February 18, 2022. The Grove Farm Foundation awards three merit-based $20,000 scholarships every year to Kaua‘i’s public high school seniors who plan to enroll in a four-year college or university. The Grove Farm Scholarship is one of the largest scholarships available in the State of Hawai‘i.
Students who exemplify quality of character, a commitment to community service, while excelling in academics, are encouraged to consult with their high school counselor to apply for the $20,000 scholarship.
Since its inception with the class of 2010, the Grove Farm Foundation has awarded $720,000 in scholarships. Education of Kauaʻi’s youth remains one of the key priorities of our Foundation.
We recently had the opportunity to visit with Grove Farm Scholar Jacky Lin, a 2017 graduate of Kauaʻi High School. Jacky returned home for the first time since he left Kauaʻi to attend Standford University, and it was nice to visit with him over the holidays.

A reopening date will be announced soon for the Puakea Golf Course and Puakea Grill. Stay tuned for news about online tee-time booking and onine food orders.
We have been fortunate to host a couple of private events as we prepare to open to the public. Recently, the Contractors Association of Kauaʻi (CAK) experienced the beautiful venue for their annual installation meeting and dinner, held on the lanai and lawn of the recently spruced up Puakea Grill. CAK members and guests had fun with aputting contest and driving contest on Kauaʻi’s largest practice range.
As the sun set behind the Haupu Mountain range, guest speaker and Director of Golf TJ Esaki-Kua shared the ongoing improvements being made at the golf course to enhance the golf experience.
Chef Kristin Yanagawa presented the menu she had prepared for the evening, which included a calamari appetizer, ginger chicken on a bed of noodles, fried rice, and her “Puakea dressing" on a mixed green salad.
A new Puakea Club membership program is also in the works. Please contact TJ Esaki-Kua at tesakikua@puakeagolf.com for more information.
