2021 Recipe Roundup Contest
The results are in and we wanted to do something special for the grand prize winner – receiving $4,000! Check out the video below for the standings, and surprise reaction from Principal Leila Kobayashi. The Recipe Roundup Contest was a challenge to five schools to submit their favorite recipes. It was a good time to gather in the kitchen and bond through the love of food.
Kōloa Elementary School submitted a bunch of recipes to put them way in the lead from the opening week of the contest. They never looked back as their final tally came out to 117 total recipes submitted. Congratulations to Principal Leila Kobayashi and Kōloa Elementary School for a job well done. Thank you to the other schools for participating and qualifying for your respective grants!
The five schools that participated were – Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School, Elsie H. Wilcox Elementary School, Kōloa Elementary School, King Kaumualiʻi Elementary School, and Waimea High School. The schools will receive a grant award based on their total recipes submitted divided by their schoolʻs enrollment.
